247Moneybox to introduce mindfulness sessions for employees

10 December 2014

247Moneybox.com, one of the UK's leading payday lenders, have today announced they are to offer mindfulness sessions for employees.

The Fintech outfit has grown rapidly since launching its online payday loan service in early 2009. Operating from central London the company aims to provide staff with meditation techniques to achieve a relaxed and positive state of mind.

It's hoped that optimising the office environment for staff will ensure excellent customer experiences and outcomes, something absolutely central to the company's business model.

247Moneybox.com's Chief Operating Officer, Mark Hannay, said: "Improving workplace health and wellbeing makes perfect business sense. Not only does it reduce absence due to sickness but also decreases turnover, and improves productivity".

Hannay goes on: "Employees who feel valued, healthy and looked after are an asset to us and they, in turn, provide excellent customer service."

Mindfulness is a simple form of meditation that was little known in the UK until recently. The mediation is conducted seated with your eyes closed. This can be cross legged on a chair or cushion. The main thing is that the back should be straight to allow the lungs to fully inflate and deflate. Close focus on the movement of the abdomen when breathing in and out, or on the awareness of the breath as it goes in and out the nostrils is a central component.

The firm hopes that the mindfulness sessions will not only impact their employees at work but can be something that they bring to their life outside the office. In addition to sessions, the company aims to introduce more health and wellbeing initiatives in the coming months.
